Section 37 of the Children and Families Act 2014 and;
Regulation 12 of the SEND Regulations 2014
Under Regulation 12 of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014 an EHC plan must include a Section A. This section will set out ‘’the views, interests and aspirations of the child and his parents or the young person’’.
Parents can expect to be asked in advance of an Annual Review or as part of an EHC needs assessment, to contribute to the EHC plan with their views and aspirations.
This is an opportunity to ensure that you are involved in the process, that your views as a parent or guardian are heard and on record. You know your child best and your contribution makes for especially important reading in contemplation of an appeal to SENDIST who will read the EHC plan carefully.
How do we help?
We can write your parental contribution to the EHC plan for you, either by completing the form sent to you or using our custom template which is based on the principles set out in the SEND Code of Practice 0-25 (2014) statutory guidance (para 9.69) and unique to your circumstances.
